September 26, 1999 Blue Ridge, Martinsville, VA
Standing on my start stool, staring at the starter, hoping the bike starts on the first kick. Just so you never see the picture taken a few seconds later when my bike starts to wheelie and lean towards the left. Man it was a great recovery. |

Are we done yet????? |

October 10, 1999 Peninsula 100, Newport News, VA Here we are doing a live engine start in a muddy field. It seems the recent visit of Hurricane Floyd made the area a muddy mess. I tried to leave myself lots of room on both sides but you'll see it didn't help.... |

If you look closely, you'll notice I've become a dirt bike sandwich. The riders on my sides decided the line I was on was better than theirs,,,,,too bad I wasn't done with it yet. The rider on the green Kawasaki went down after another fifty feet and my front tire got hung up between his rear tire and fender,,,, I didn't know I could fly without a pilot's license but I sure tried.
The best way to cross railroad tracks??? Keep the front end light and stay on the gas.... |
